NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) said on Friday that it demonstrated 5G utility cases such as public safety, smart and connected health, smart construction and connected workers with its equipment partners Ericsson and Nokia, in Pune and Gandhinagar.

By doing this, Vodafone Idea showcased 5G-powered applications such as enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), ultra-reliable low latency (uRLLC), multi-access edge computing (MEC), virtual and augmented reality (VR / AR), among others. .a. others.

With our 5G trial underway, we are preparing to take India on the next journey in fifth-generation wireless mobile communications technology. of technological advancement in India, ”said Ravinder Takkar, MD & CEO, Vodafone Idea Limited.

The telecommunications company develops use cases across segments such as industry 4.0, smart cities, smart healthcare, smart workplace, smart education, smart agriculture, games, among other things by using the test spectrum assigned by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).

We have collaborated with industry players such as Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Smart World & Communication, Athonet and homemade startups Vizzbee and Tweek Labs.

We and L&T today demonstrated the usefulness of 4K camcorders integrated with 5G networks and real-time video analysis with artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to improve public safety, while smart and connected health demonstrated remote diagnostics of a patient while he is on his way to the hospital.

We and Athonet simulated the digital twin of a substructure tunnel and a smart workplace to improve worker safety, meet health and other compliance, and prevent overcrowding.

Its rival Bharti Airtel also collaborates with global companies Accenture, Amazon Web Service (AWS), Cisco, Ericsson, Google Cloud, Nokia, Tata Consultancy (TCS) to demonstrate enterprise-quality use cases using high-speed, low-speed 5G networks latency.

Airtel works with brands such as Apollo Hospitals, Flipkart and other manufacturing companies to test 5G-based solutions. We and Nokia recently said that they achieved top speeds of over 1.5 Gbps at 3.5 GHz, more than 4.2 Gbps at 26 GHz and up to 9.8 Gbps on the backhaul spectrum of E-band.

The 5G trial network created by Vi i Pune, implements Ericsson Radios and Ericsson Dual Mode Core based on cloud-native technology consisting of 5G SA, 5G NSA & LTE package core features. All use cases demonstrated in Pune have been developed using Ericsson’s 5G technology solutions.

In Gandhinagar, we use Nokia’s AirScale radio portfolio and Microwave E-band solution for the experiment, supporting companies, both large and small and medium-sized enterprises, with reliable connectivity.
