Utah State Gymnastics Promotes Daniel Barclay to Assistant Coach

LOGAN, Utah – Second-year Utah State head gymnastics coach Kristin White announced the promotion of Daniel Barclay to assistant coach on Tuesday.

Not only will Barclay help assist on all events, he will also be in charge of day-to-day equipment operations, apparel and recruiting.

“We are fortunate to have the opportunity to promote Daniel to assistant coach,” White said. “He has been an incredible asset to Utah State gymnastics during his time as a manager. His love and passion for the program can be felt by anyone that meets him. We are grateful to have him step into this new role and grow his skillset even more. Aggie gymnastics is getting even better today.”

Barclay has served as the Aggies’ team manager since the 2018 campaign. During that time, he organized equipment for the team, which allowed for smoother practices and competitions. He also assisted the coaching staff in various ways.

“I feel incredibly blessed to be able to start my coaching career at Utah State,” Barclay said.  “The coaching staff here is amazing and I am grateful to coach White for trusting me with this opportunity. I am excited to work hard and learn from this talented staff and team.”

Barclay was a member of Utah State’s club gymnastics team from 2018-23. He served as the co-president during the 2022-23 campaign and as the vice president during the 2021-22 season.

The native of Prattville, Alabama, served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to both the Manila, Philippines, and Frankfurt, Germany, from 2019-21. He also earned his Eagle Scout in 2015.

Barclay is married to the former Abbie McCammon.
