While Android 13 is slowly creeping into our minds, OEMs are still coping with the Android 12 update. Samsung, which is apparently on its way, continues to impress with its fast update cadence. Now more T-Mobile subscribers are having fun, with the Galaxy Note 20 series finally receiving the One UI 4 (Android 12) update.
This morning, several Android Central employees received the Android 12 update on their Samsung devices, including the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.
This is remarkable because T-Mobile seemed to be the last of the best US wireless providers to jump on the Android 12 train for the Note 20 series after Verizon and then reportedly AT&T hit it hard. Unlocked devices even received the update before those attached to T-Mobile.
While global variants of these phones have already been in the process of receiving One UI 4, the US is unfortunately at the mercy of operators for major Android updates. Interestingly, these phones are not yet listed on T-Mobile’s support page to have received the update yet.
Given that this may be the latest Note-branded Galaxy smartphone, Android 12 should breathe new life into your phone ahead of the launch of the Galaxy S22, which we expect to take place in early February.
If your Galaxy Note 20 or Note 20 Ultra has not been notified of the update, navigate to Settings> Software update> Download and install to check manually. It may take some time to roll out to everyone.
