Staffing company Randstadt talks about no-code solution that produced 1000% ROI

The low code / no code revolution enables exponentially faster processing times in the development of software applications and accelerates business results. At VB’s Low-Code / No-Code Summit, these benefits were demonstrated. Managers from Randstad and Pulpstream joined VB for a session called, “How the World’s Largest Personnel Company Generated 1000% ROI by Streamlining Risk and Security Processes Using a No Code Platform.”

In Randstad, employee compensation is the second largest expense after the payroll, explained Trey Braden, director of risk management, in Randstad Manual. On-paper processes slowed down all parts of the procedure, from intake requirements to kick-off investigations and even workplace evaluations that help prevent requirements from occurring in the first place, which is the ideal situation.

“We paid about $ 50 million a year on employee compensation,” Braden said. “We realized that even a small percentage would do something about it by eliminating a manual process, could give us a significant ROI.”

They turned to Pulpstream, which helped the risk management team design a solution that digitized and automated their employees’ compensation workflows, iteratively improved the design, and put it into production with minimal IT help. The partnership yielded 1000% ROI, said Braden, who dramatically improved not only speed but accuracy in the worker’s comp process.

“A solution without code puts the company in the driver’s seat,” Braden said. “It’s revolutionary in terms of where I think things are going in the tech industry. Not only do we get more done and collaborate better, but we get a better product as a result of the people who have the demands starting to get their fingers into the building and the product itself, making sure you get something that you really like will appreciate. ”

Instead of buying a shelf solution and then customizing it, let them work with Pulpstream starting over, building drawings for their processes and workflow, and turning it into a digital solution without writing code. The code-free platform brings design and architecture decisions closer to the company and eliminates the necessary but bottleneck translation in the middle from business analysts between the IT department and the project owners.

It’s a big leap from a paper-based process to a digitally-based process, Braden said, and the traditional software development cycle can be slow. The codeless solution gave them tremendous flexibility as they designed a whole new solution and a whole new way of working. They were able to develop their idea based on how their implementation worked and the feedback they received from their users.

“Because of the flexibility, we have been able to adapt quickly and ensure that our end product matches what will work best for us,” he said, “instead of sticking to something that we need to stick to. in because that was what we said we would do. ”

Processes should never be cast in stone, Malviya said, and the platform is designed to encourage that mindset. Along with a sandbox environment for design and testing, the platform also allows users to post their changes instantly. It improves the speed of user testing and iteration, but he warned that you need to have some discipline in these design and development processes.

Pulpstream also continues to develop and add more features to their platform, including their new set of template solutions. Instead of starting over, companies can use the integrated templates to speed up the development of their process plan.

Braden also noted that they have not finished researching the possibilities of Pulpstream’s no-code platform.

“It’s explosive, the future of the platform without code,” he explained. “I want to tell you that it was the only processes we had that were manual, but there are certainly lots and lots, and I do not think Randstad is alone.”
