Singapore GP F1 2023: F1 Singapore GP race live

Last minute of the F1 Singapore GP race, live:

Good morning! The forecast for this triplet of Grand Prix (Singapore, Japan and Qatar) is that Max Verstappen certifies his third consecutive crown. It won’t be this weekend, but, depending on the result he gets, he could do it in Japan. Accumulate 10 wins in a row (12 wins in 2023 out of a possible 14; the other two were won by his boxing neighbor, Checo Pérez). Will he achieve the eleventh consecutive? There is a hopeful fact for his rivals: Mad Max has never won on this track…

The focus of this Singapore GP will be, of course, on knowing if there is someone capable of breaking the overwhelming hegemony of Red Bull. They have won all the races of the 2023 season and on the horizon there is no rival capable of ending such tyranny. In the previous meeting (the one at home), Ferrari took a step forward. Carlos Sainz achieved pole position and made things difficult for the energetic drivers in the race. We will see how those from Maranello develop here.

For its part, Mercedes usually shines on this track. Lewis Hamilton has won four times (2009, 2014, 2017 and 2018) on this peculiar track (and Nico Rosberg took the victory in 2016). The seven-time champion is fighting arm in arm with Fernando Alonso to be the third best driver in the competition (the man from Oviedo scores only six points: 170 compared to 164). A nice battle between the two is expected here. The Asturian likes this circuit. In fact, he won when he was a member of Renault in 2008 and then he did it at Ferrari in the 2010 season.

Curiously, The most successful pilot in Marina Bay is no longer active, although in recent days his return has been a constant topic of conversation. Sebastian Vettel adds five victories here to his record (2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2019). But the most interesting detail that we must not overlook is that the last winner is Czech Pereza true specialist in street circuits. The Mexican has achieved two victories this year (Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan) and this may be a good time to vindicate himself. And even more so seeing that Helmut Marko doesn’t stop making unfortunate comments about him…

We don’t extend any further and start with the second free practice session of the weekend…Make yourself comfortable and enjoy
