Salah is the top scorer in World Cup qualifiers after the first round

Mohamed Salah, captain of the Egyptian national team, tops the list of top scorers in the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup after the end of the first round.

Salah scored 4 more goals than any other player in the opening round matches in the nine groups.

The Liverpool star led the Egyptian team to achieve a sweeping victory over its guest, Djibouti, with a clean six-point win last Thursday in the first group.

Although the Côte d’Ivoire national team scored 9 goals in its impressive victory over Seychelles in Group F, no one has been able to break Salah’s record in a single match so far.

Salah is chasing 4 stars, each of whom scored two goals, most notably Sadio Mane, the Senegal national team winger.

Mane led the Senegalese team to victory over South Sudan 4-0 in the second group yesterday evening, Saturday.
