Royal Family LIVE: Sussexes ‘still dithering’ over bringing children to King’s Coronation | Royal | News

Questions have been raised as to whether or not Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, will bring their children to the Coronation next month if the couple do decide to attend. A spokesperson for the couple – now living in the US – confirmed they had received an official invite to the event set to be held on May 8. But it is not yet clear as to whether or not the couple plan to attend the event held in London.

The date falls on their eldest child Archie’s fourth birthday, and with Lilibet being just one, it is unclear whether the couple would fly their children over for the event.

Writing for the Daily Mail, royal commentator Ephraim Harcastle said: “Demanding that Archie be let in for part of the service (so Prince George doesn’t steal all the limelight) and Lilibet be held up at the Palace window to see the Coronation procession depart would imitate the roles played by Charles and Anne back in 1953.

Whatever the cause of delay, they need to get a move on if they want their names in the order of service. A source says the first draft has been drawn up and proofed and once the King signs off on it then no changes will be possible.”

Rumours have been swirling that the couple do plan on attending the event next month, with it marking the first time the pair will come face to face with the Royal Family since the release of their Netflix docu-series and Harry’s memoir Spare.

The Netflix show and book contained a number of claims against members of the Firm, particularly Harry’s older brother Prince William who has not publicly responded to the allegations made.
