Royal Family LIVE: Princess Kate’s four-word hint over ‘first thing’ she’ll do when Queen | Royal | News

The Princess of Wales has revealed in just four words that she is “going to help kids” in her first act when she becomes Queen. The insight came when Princess Kate was speaking to children at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, at the inaugural children’s picnic.

Saron Fikremariam, 11, one of the pupils attending the event from ten primary schools, said after meeting the Princess: “I asked her what’s the first thing she is going to do when she becomes Queen and she said she is going to help kids.”

The 41-year-old Princess also delivered a candid answer to the question of how to be a royal, saying simply: “You have to work hard.”

Kate also met ex-servicemen and women, the Chelsea Pensioners, as the iconic group sat in a covered dining area.

She asked the group: “What’s on the menu?”, as the pensioners tucked into chargrilled peas with herbs.

Harry Puttick, who served with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers for 30 years, replied sharply, “The peas are forgettable, you are not”.
