The main event of Evening UFC ended controversially. Alexa Grasso kept his women’s flyweight belt after achieving a split draw (48-47, 47-48, 47-47) contra Valentina Shevchenko.
The result was due to a 10 to 8 given by referee Mike Bell to Grasso, in the last round, which generated a lot of controversy.
“Dear Mike Beal, resign!” said Marion Reneau, former UFC fighter, via X (formerly Twitter). Another personality from the fighting world who spoke out was Belal Muhammad.
“Okay, 10-8 in the 5th round is revolting. Cruz, I’ll take you off the leash, you can catch him,” said the welterweight.
Jalin Turner, currently in the UFC lightweight division, was another who spoke out. “Can we hire new judges or review the rules? I’m not nervous about the title fight being tied, but come on, it’s a title fight,” he commented.
