We regularly write here about players and coaches who once played a role at RB Leipzig and have since moved on to other clubs. We don’t rely on completeness, but rather mention the ex-actors depending on their importance or story.
Nyland set back by injury
Örjan Nyland After his short stint at RB Leipzig, he found himself somewhat surprisingly at FC Sevilla and was even able to get a regular place there. After watching three times, his streak lasted seven league games. But now he is injured. Last weekend he missed the city duel with Betis Sevilla, instead 31-year-old Marko Dmitrović kept the goal again. The Norwegian now has to work his way past that again.
Mukiele gets preference over Hernandez
Nordi Mukiele is currently on the way to doing this at Paris St. Germain. His season got off to a difficult start, five games without a squad nomination were followed by short appearances and two more than 90 minutes on the bench. Now he was allowed to be on the pitch again as a left-back for the full distance against HSC Montpellier and Stade Reims. Instead, coach Luis Enrique left Lucas Hernandez on the bench but substituted him.
Samardzic gets a scorer point
Lazar Samardzic has become important at Udinese Calcio. He is in the starting line-up 75 percent of the time, which was what he did in one season at RB Leipzig cannot be sustained sustainably wanted. He has been more of a goal threat and has two goals to his name so far. But in the game against Atalanta Bergamo he at least managed to provide an assist for the important lead in the 1-1 draw.
Cunha scores a late goal
Matheus Cunha’s career developed surprisingly after his time at RB Leipzig. The move to Hertha BSC, which many viewed as a step backwards, was followed by the move to Atletico Madrid. There he scored seven goals and eight assists in 54 games. Now he plays like Hee-chan Hwang, also a former RBLer, for Wolverhampton Wanderers. And there at the weekend, in the 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur, he scored the equalizer in stoppage time, which even marked the turnaround to victory.
Augustin is injured
Jean-Kevin Augustin almost hung up his boots after he became the infamous subject of a transfer dispute between RB Leipzig and Leeds United due to his inadequate performances. After escaping to FC Nantes, he found an employer in FC Basel who helped rebuild him. However, he was recently absent due to a torn muscle that he sustained in the game against Yverdon Sport FC. Nevertheless, the 26-year-old has another chance to present himself internationally.
