One dead in campus shooting as suspect arrested at Rose State college | US | News

Rose State College in Oklahoma warned of an active school shooter situation on Monday afternoon. 

Police later confirmed that one person had died in the shooting after one person opened fire at the college located near Oklahoma City, police and eyewitnesses confirmed. 

The incident began just after noon on Monday and the college was quick to alert students and the public immediately after the shooting began. 

In a tweet, the school told students and staff to follow safety instructions and seek shelter.

They wrote: “ROSE ALERT: We are currently experiencing an active shooter situation on campus.

“Please shelter in place and follow instructions from law enforcement officials. More information to follow as it becomes available.”

In a later update, the college confirmed that a suspect had been arrested and is in police custody. 

Police are on the scene, Rose State College said in a tweet.
