Roblox-centric developer Melon announced today that it released its first original game in the field of metaverse. It’s called Jump Kingdoms.

In Jump Kingdoms, players play as friends, colorful creatures they can customize (these characters are unique to this game). These friends run each other in randomly generated parkour challenges. These parkour races will be held in places like lava fields and castles. Season 0 of the game launches next week, while season 1 rolls out in November.

The sweet, candy-colored friends look like the beans in Fall Guys. They can be customized with a variety of colorful outfits, which just makes it even more obvious. Although much of the success of games on Roblox has previously been born from user-generated content, several companies such as Supersocial and Toya are launching professional studios focusing on making Roblox games.

Melon is the development studio that has created several interactive experiences in the universe for pop stars, including Ava Max and KSI. Until now, most of the studio’s work in Roblox’s metaverse has been corporate marketing projects. Now it makes its own game in space. Melon claims that its history of creating engaging experiences in Roblox has shaped how it has developed Jump Kingdoms.

Melon founder Devon Thorne said in a statement that Jump Kingdoms’ subject has a history in Roblox: “Parkour and obstacle style have been popular on Roblox for over a decade and we feel that the competitive randomly generated races in Jump Kingdoms really do this style of fair play. ”
