Rumor mills predicted a hugely redesigned Apple Watch Series 7 with thinner edges and boxer shape. When Apple unveiled the Apple Watch Series 7 last month, we realized that very little has changed when it comes to design. As Apple’s latest smartwatch has started arriving at customers, we’ll see a lot of photos. Until then, a new image compares the Apple Watch Series 7 screen size with the Series 6.
Apple claims that the new Apple Watch Series 7 is equipped with a 20% larger screen as opposed to Series 6. This is achieved by reducing edges and adding a curvature to the screen. Apple already has a detailed comparison of the Apple Watch Series 7 Vs Series 6 on its website. However, the real picture tends to give a much clearer picture.
In the image above, you can see that the Apple Watch Series 7 is equipped with a slightly larger display. Meanwhile, the case size has not increased much. In other words, Apple has managed to squeeze the larger display with marginal increase in case size. New watchOS user interface has larger buttons and a QWERTY keyboard, both of which benefit from a larger screen. Apart from the display, the Apple Watch Series 7 boasts fast charging and a more robust construction.
The latest Apple Watch Series 7 is less chunkier than the previous one. Those of us who expected a complete design repair were disappointed. There’s not much to write home about the Apple Watch Series 7 design. In addition, the latest Apple Watch standout feature is missing apart from the larger screen. We wonder if the device has reached a saturation point. On a related note, check out the Apple Watch Series 7 review roundup for a better idea.
