It cost Chelsea 100 million and counts little for Pochettino: «There’s still a lot to learn» – Chelsea

English club is one of the biggest spenders in European football

Mykhaylo Mudryk was one of the biggest investments Chelsea made in recent times, but the truth is that the Ukrainian striker is far from convincing coach Mauricio Pochettino. The player arrived at Stamford Bridge in January, from Shakhtar Donetsk, for 100 million euros, but has been slow to establish himself in the Premier League. “He’s improving. He still has to learn, the Premier League is very fast, the speed of the game is different. I think it’s a matter of understanding the game better and trying to connect better with the team”, explained Pochettino afterwards of the draw with Bournemouth (0-0). “We need to give him time, as well as the tools to improve during the season”, added the coach, who started the Ukrainian in yesterday’s game, but ended up removing him after 63 minutes.

This was, in fact, the match in which Mudryk spent the most time on the field this season in the Premier League. With Liverpool he played 9 minutes, against West Ham 45 and against Nottingham Forest just 13.
