Hunter Biden spotted on sushi date with wife Melissa Cohen in Beverly Hills

Hunter Biden and his South African filmmaker wife Melissa Cohen were spotted this weekend in celebrity-obsessed Beverly Hills, mingling with friends at a trendy and upscale eatery. The rare public outing took place Saturday at Japanese sushi bar Matsuhisa — a likely welcome distraction from Congressional Republicans’ intense scrutiny of the first son’s foreign business transactions — and the ramp-up of a federal investigation.

Hunter, who looked extremely uncomfortable on camera, was photographed wearing a scruffy jean jacket and trousers combination, and a cap – and what appears to be the beginnings of a beard, mustache or both.

Yet 53-year-old Hunter Biden has managed to stay under the public radar as Republicans look to use him as a cudgel to give a headache to the Supreme Commander and Hunter’s father, President Joe Biden.

Hunter secretly married Cohen in 2019; the married couple welcomed a son which they named after Hunter’s late brother, Beau.

Hunter’s previous marital bliss was with Kathleen Buhle; with whom he had three children prior to their divorce in 2017.

After Beau Biden’s death in 2015, the younger Biden had a brief relationship with Hallie Olivere Biden – his big brother’s widow. The connection ended around 2019.

Last month, a scheduled plea deal for Hunter Biden regarding two federal charges of willful failure to pay federal income taxes imploded in a Delaware court.

The deal was accompanied by a preliminary diversion agreement on a gun felony charge of illegal possession of a firearm while addicted to illegal drugs.

U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika, a Trump appointee who oversaw the hearing, raised constitutional questions about the agreement and found daylight between the prosecution and defense.

The younger Biden’s lawyers appeared to be under the impression that he would be clear of other possible charges as the federal government continued its investigation, presumably related to his foreign activities.

On August 11, the American general spoke Merrick Garland granted U.S. Attorney David Weiss of Delaware – the central person in the Hunter Biden case – special counsel. As a result, Weiss now has added legal firepower to his investigation.

Adding to that scrutiny are efforts by Republicans in Congress, led by Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), to take a deep dive into the Biden’s overseas activities. family and the potential influence they exert.

The White House has accused the Republican Party of falsifying Hunter Biden’s record and its top attorney, Abbe Lowell, strongly believes that this client should not face additional charges.

“There is no new evidence to be found,” he says told CBS’s “Face the Nation” earlier this month, they stressed that if prosecutors stick to “the facts, the evidence and the law,” no new charges will follow.
