He dies after suffering a heart attack while leading his wife in the first defense of his title

EThe Argentine boxing coach Diego Arrua suffered this Saturday a heart attack which shortly after caused his death while directed his wife, Sabrina ‘la Muñequita’ Pérezduring a combat in the Mexican city of Tijuana in which he lost his interim featherweight title of the World Boxing Council (WBC).

According to the doctors who assisted him at the Tijuana General Hospital and the television images, the technician Arrúa suffered a “Fulminant infarction” next to the ring.

Arrúa was removed on a stretcher by paramedics from the Fausto Gutiérrez municipal pavilion, The fight continued and ‘la Muñequita’ Pérez lost by unanimous decision to the Australian Skye Nicolson.

“It is with deep sadness that we have been informed of the sudden death of Argentine coach Diego Arrúa, who suffered a devastating heart attack during the Sabrina Pérez fight in Tijuana. “The medical services did everything possible and he died at the General Hospital.”The president of the World Boxing Council (WBC), Mauricio Sulaimán, reported in a statement.

The coach fainted with about a minute left in the fight.. His death was declared upon arrival at the hospital.
