“CAF” announces the referees for the match between Sun Downs and Al-Ahly in the African League

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the refereeing crew for the match between Sun Downs of South Africa and Al-Ahly, scheduled for next Sunday, in the first leg of the African League semi-finals.

Al-Ahly will host Sun Downs in Pretoria in the first leg of the semi-finals of the 2023 African Football League, before the return match next November 1 in Cairo.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) assigned the management of the match between Sun Downs and Al-Ahly to Benin to Luis Digendo as “arbiter”, and his compatriot Eric Elmafo assisted him with Angolan Luis Oliveira (second assistant referee), while Ahmed Imtiaz from Mauritius was the fourth referee for the match.

Maria Rivette from Mauritius is present on the VAR video technology with Moroccan assistant Adel Zouraq.

Al-Ahly succeeded in qualifying for the semi-finals of the African League after defeating Tanzania’s Simba after a 2-2 draw in Tanzania, and a 1-1 draw in Cairo.

While Sun Downs qualified for the semi-finals after achieving a two-goal win without a response over Angola’s Petro Atletico in the aggregate of the two matches, setting a new date with Al-Ahly.
