Bonelab Trailer Reveals Quest 2 Release Date and New Gameplay

Bone lab the anticipated follow-up to the VR physics sandbox adventure Boneworks (2019), is set to launch next week following a surprise release date from developer Stress Level Zero. Along with the game’s release date, new Bone lab gameplay features a unique avatar swapping mechanic.

The developer Stress Level Zero has quietly continued to work Bone lab over the past few years… maybe also quietly. So we’re surprised to see the studio today announce a sudden release date for Bone lab: next week, Thursday, September 29. The game is set to launch simultaneously on Quest 2 and SteamVR (the original Quest will not be supported).

In addition to announcing the release date, the studio also dropped the best look at Bone lab gameplay yet, with a unique avatar swapping mechanic that allows players to quickly switch between different characters with unique sizes and attributes.

The fluidity of avatar switching, combined with Stress Level Zero’s signature shots and physics-driven gameplay, looks like a really interesting combination that we can’t wait to try.

Bone lab is the clear follow-up to Boneworksa physics sandbox adventure that pushed the boundaries of physical simulation for gameplay interaction in VR, a method we found to be both magical and frustrating in our full review of the game.

There is little information about the game’s scope beyond the gameplay trailer above and the amount of information shared on the game’s official Steam and Quest store pages:
